Photos taken at Harborview Trauma Center, Seattle, WA
Tammy was airlifted to Harborview after the "jaws of life" and rescuers removed her from the vehicle.  Several doctors in the
trauma unit performed surgery on her somewhat like "tag team" for needed specialists.  Injuries included:  loss of right eye,
brain injury, broken jaw, broken ribs, internal bleeding, broken right femur, and right ankle compound fracture.  If she wasn't
wearing hiking shoes, she would of lost her foot.
Breanna with her Aunt Katie at
Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.
Breanna and Tammy together for the first time.  Breanna thought her mom died in the accident
because it took eight days for Tammy to be well enough to leave the hospital.  Tammy thought
Breanna died in the accident as well, until her mother told her that she was alive but had a broken
neck and back....and that she couldn't walk, feel her legs or move her arms.  Breanna did squeeze
her Grandma Joan's hand and also her daddy's but the one lady doctor INSISTED that it was a
spastic muscle reflex...she was obviously wrong.  Bedside manners are so important doctors.
