Saturday Night Dinner - Author/Speaker - Mom Mini Pageant
Friday Night - Get Acquainted Pajama Party-
This is Natasha Mahapatro, Miss Jr. Teen
America 2005. She was crowned Miss
Washington Jr. Teen America 2005 in May 2005,
and went to Nationals in late August 2005 to
compete and won. Breanna was so proud of her!
This is Danielle. She was
Miss Evergreen State
2005, which is one age
division below Jr. Teen,
a.k.a. - Princess Division
(age 9-11). Danielle
represented Gig Harbor.
She returned to crown the
new Miss Evergreen 2006.
This is Brooke. She was
the delegate from Browns
Point. This was her first
year in this program. She's
done several other
pageants and is a great
pal. Brooke is 3rd runner
up in the Queens Court.
This is Katie seen right of
Breanna. Katie was Miss
Washington Jr. Teen America
2005. When Natasha went to
Nationals and won the
American Jr Teen title, Katie
assumed the WA State title.
Katie also represented Gig
Harbor in 2005.
This is Sabrina. She is
second runner up in the
Queens Court. Good Job
Sabrina! Her mom won
the mom pageant, and
Breanna's mom was first
runner up. The mom
pageant is just for fun!
Thank you Diane
Schmidt, WSJTA
Program Director.
She is a fantastic
leader and helps all
the delegates gain
confidence and an
overall sense of well
being. Diane also is
a representative for
Arbonne Skin
Products.

Breanna Regan is...
May 12-14, 2006
Miss Washington Jr. Teen America 2006
Don't be fooled by
pageants. They are a
great way to save
money for college
when you win savings
bonds.
The Western States
Junior Teen America
Scholarship Program has
a no makeup policy. It
isn't about the outer
beauty, it is about the
inner beauty and
attitude toward life. I
had over 608 hours of
community service
volunteering for charities
such as Make A Wish
Foundation, BRPF,
Generation X,
LP Production's The
Singing Nativity, helped
train future physical
therapists for swimming
certification, and much
more. I use a
wheelchair, but
the
last thing
I do is sit all day!

Volunteer!
Make a difference!

A plug for my
community concern...

"Swallow your pride,
don't drink and drive."

BREANNA'S PRESS RELEASE
Each delegate was judged on their essay, academic and
community service record, a personal interview, talent
presentation, poise, appearance, fitness philosophy, and other
achievements and interests.  Miss Regan was recently awarded
Good Samaritan of the Year 2005 given by the Tacoma-Pierce
County DUI Task Force, Victims Panel and Washington State
Patrol. She will utilize her crown as a microphone, guest
speaking at victim panel meetings held publicly each month.

Some of her community service activities include fundraising for
spinal cord injury research through the Breanna Regan Paralysis
Foundation, founded in 1999 by her mother Tamara Regan. On
August 26, 2006 BRPF will host their 6th Annual Golf
Tournament. Proceeds are forwarded to the Christopher Reeve
Foundation. As a cast member of Generation X with Positive
Programs Inc., Breanna has trained through an intensive
program with special emphasis on public speaking and
performance skills. Breanna shares her inspiring life story of
becoming paraplegic at the age of three in a car accident
caused by a drunk driver. She promotes the importance of
education and positive life choices. The Generation X program
has been presented to over 175,000 students and adults at
junior, middle and high schools, conferences and community
events throughout the state of Washington. Breanna enjoys and
has become quite fluent with her sign language skills that she
learned through her Christian/Lutheran School and continues at
home on her own. She volunteers her time to LP Production’s of,
A Victorian Country Christmas.  Many hours are spent each
Saturday rehearsing for two months in preparation for one week
of public performances in December as a Singing Nativity cast
member at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. She also volunteers for
Make a Wish Foundation, and maintains her own Yahoo! group
concerning drunk driving prevention.
Breanna Regan, daughter of Patrick and Tamara Regan, a 13
year-old high honors eighth grade student at Parkland
Lutheran School, has been selected by a panel of seven
judges as the new Miss Washington Jr. Teen America 2006.
The WSJTA Pageant Finals were held at the Carco Theater in
Renton, WA, on May 14, 2006. Miss Regan also earned the
Miss Ambassador title for her representation of her Miss
Tacoma title. Breanna will compete in the National Miss Jr.
Teen America Pageant in Connecticut the fall of 2006, where
she along with other young ladies from all over the United
States will vie for the prestigious title of Miss Jr. Teen America
2006.

Author and Keynote speaker of Nothing But the Truth (And a Few White Lies), Justina Chen Headley, attended Saturday
Night's Dinner with the delegates and their families. After dinner she gave a presentation about strength, being a young
woman in today's society, and being confident with all each of us has to offer. She stayed a bit after her presentation
and autographed her book for the girls that purchased one. She also gave a great discount of $10 for the delegates.
Thank you Justina!
The car you see above
is one reason I advocate
about drunk driving
prevention. This is the
car my friend's dad was
driving when he was
killed on Feb. 3, 2005
On February 3, 2005, my friend's dad was on
his way to work when he was hit head on by
a drunk driver. He died at the scene. He had
no chance. Me and my family watched in on
the news that morning, not knowing it was
her dad. I've had it with people thinking
they're above the law. I was three years old
when a lady made a choice to get in a car
and drive. She's been arrested many times
for DUI's, knows the system, lied at the scene
and wasn't properly tested.
Forgiven, yes --
Forgotten, never.
This is why, in my heart, my
story needs to be shared-
hence Generation X
and along the way people, especially high
school students and those under the age of
21, will think twice and hand over the keys.
